OUR STORY
Iqbal Jumabhoy was spending at least 200 days each year out of the suitcase in his role as managing director and group CEO of SilverNeedle Hospitality Group, which was the same kind of lifestyle he was leading in numerous prior roles. At that time, he created an "Ask the CEO" account to gain first-hand information about what is troubling guests. Iqbal found common themes in the hundreds of emails received and he thought to himself, “I need to find a way to solve these pain points these travellers have”.

In 2016, BlackBook was set up to do that. The idea was to create an app that would become the first and only thing you will pull out of your pocket the moment travel inspiration strikes or when you need to plan, manage and survive a trip. An app that will take you through everything with ease - from booking accommodation to figuring out which places to visit and to accumulate and redeem your rewards points with maximum flexibility, no matter where you choose to stay. Most importantly, all the required information and tickets are stored in a single place - on your mobile phone.
